Parallel Class Session 1Room 1G114Gaming on GNU/Linux has evolved significantly in recent years. Valve involvement with Project Proton into the ecosystem bringing GNU/Linux gamers into more excitement, with the current culmination on Steam Deck Handhelnd.
This portable gaming (and multipurpose compute) has bring a blessing into the community of gamers and engineers.
In this session, we will talk about the landscape of development and support for gaming within GNU/Linux, from the kernel up into tweaking the system performance. We'll try to also review latest trend in Linux Kernel such as eBPF for gaming devices, if the time allowed.
This is not a hardcore hacking session, but an overview to get the landscape of gaming development in GNU/Linux from the lowest level and to get understanding on tweaking system performance
